About Betsy

I have spent the past three decades writing quality technical content and leveraging that content to launch impactful integrated marketing campaigns. I started my career as a technical and promotional writer for medical, security, and environmental corporations. In early 2000, I decided to become an independent freelance writer, editor, and content consultant, focusing primarily on B2B manufacturers and associations in the electrical, networking, and telecommunications industries. I frequently publish content in a variety of industry publications on behalf of my clients and am also a contributing writer for Endeavor Business Media, primarily writing articles for Smart Buildings Technology Magazine and Cabling Installation & Maintenance Magazine. I was was chief editor of BICSI News Magazine for five years where I was instrumental in bringing the publication from a newsletter status to that of a preeminent trade magazine and helping to launch BICSI’s premier publication, ICT Today. 

My years of industry knowledge, combined with a natural talent for writing, enables me to deliver relevant, authoritative information on a variety of topics, including fiber broadband, smart buildings, data centers, wireless systems, IoT/IIoT, industrial Ethernet, digital lighting, audio-visual, copper and fiber technologies and applications, electrical transmission and distribution, electronic safety and security, and more. With a keen ability to translate technical information into engaging copy, I help industry associations and high-tech manufacturers uphold messaging, increase exposure, and enhance their professional stature and industry reputation. My services include helping my clients develop strategic direction and integrated marketing plans that leverage content for a variety of modalities. I can also manage projects from concept to dissemination, including research, writing, and approvals, as well as coordination of photography/videography, graphic design, and media relations as needed.

I am an active BICSI member and volunteer, serving as Chair of BICSI's Women in BICSI Workgroup and as a member of the Presentation Selection Workgroup and Professional Development Subcommittee. I am a strong advocate for connecting, empowering, and motivating women in the ICT industry and was awarded the 2020 BICSI ICT Woman of the Year award.
